Our counsel, Dora Simonin, has worked with a number of farmers and producers on operating systems and succession plans. In addition, she has also assisted with asset purchases and sales, land leases, and a broad range of related business and family law issues. With a breadth of mediation and court related experience in family law, she is able to effectively navigate the potential impact when these areas of interest overlap and advise accordingly.
Holding a First-Class Honours Degree in Criminology from Simon Fraser University, Dora graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Law with a Juris Doctorate. Previously, she worked for Legal Aid in Saskatchewan, often within remote northern fly-in communities where she was actively engaged in family law, child protection, and criminal law defense work. After leaving Saskatchewan, she initially pursued a largely family-law focused practice, which has now evolved to include real estate, wills and estates, and agricultural issues. Dora has also spent a significant amount of time successfully arguing matters in both the Saskatchewan and Alberta Court of Justice and Court of King’s Bench.
